Being an artist
Jamie was able to find a vehicle for expressing his fascinations in boats and ships, spending an intense amount of time drawing, researching and transforming his smaller drawings into large scale drawings and models. He developed his confidence in his own ideas and was able to share these with other children and adults.
Being treated as artists allows children to explore their own ideas and how they can be developed. They become involved in exploring art practice in conversation with others, asking good questions, making sense, understanding and developing work in a supportive environment.
